Stephen Holgate is a Master Trainer for the Dale Carnegie Corporation, and has worked with clients in over 30 cities in 12 countries on 5 continents.
Stephen has delivered customized corporate solutions for clients including Microsoft, Ogilvy, Merrill Lynch, AIG, Hearst Magazines, Con Edison, London Business School (UK), Purina (Australia), Hong Kong Government’s Efficiency Unit, Vega Foods (Africa), NHS (UK), Red Hat Linux (Singapore), Lawson Software (Philippines/Aus), Kaybee (China), Nautica, Solutia (Singapore), Reinsurance Group of America (Korea/Aus), Swimming Australia, plus Government organizations and many small firms.
Stephen joined the London, UK, office of Dale Carnegie in early 2002, as a Business Consultant and Head of Marketing. He qualified as a Dale Carnegie Trainer in 2003. Stephen moved to Australia in January 2006, to launch the newly established office in Sydney. In 2007, Stephen took on a Master Trainer role, delivering programs throughout Australia and Asia. He relocated to New York City in mid-2009 and now leads of team of 20 NYC-based trainers while remaining involved in the Global Projects delivery team.
Stephen was the chief content editor for Dale Carnegie’s 3 Leadership Apps for Smart Phones launched in 2011, as well as appearing in the video demonstrations as part of these Apps, and the “Secrets of Success” App (#1 paid business app on the iPhone when it launched in 2010). He co-authored the Trainer Manual for the newly launched 8 week Skills for Team Success program, and has been heavily involved in the new program’s rollout across the Carnegie network.
Stephen’s responsibilities fall into three main categories:
• to work with clients to improve company results, by focusing on developing the skills of their people, through group facilitation and/or business coaching;
• to deliver personal performance improvement programs, designed to achieve behavior-change in fundamental areas that make people more successful; and
• to work with new and existing Dale Carnegie Trainers to enhance their skills.
Stephen has a Bachelor of Business degree, with Marketing and Accounting specializations, from the Queensland University of Technology, and a Graduate Diploma in Procurement Management from Griffith University (Australia).
Stephen draws upon his other life experiences when delivering programs, including travel throughout Europe, North America, Australia, Asia, and Northern Africa. He is also part of an NYC-based Improv Comedy team, and enjoys basketball and snowboarding. Stephen is an Australian citizen, and currently resides in New York City.
